"CAC Fellowship for Chinese Artist 2015" Interview

Applications for CAC Fellowship for Chinese Artist 2015 have been processed since the application deadline. This Fellowship has been created by the School of Art, Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD), Birmingham City University in conjunction with the Chronus Art Center (CAC) in Shanghai. The Fellowship offers an exciting opportunity for an artist at the commencement of or at a critical point in their professional career, to further develop his or her practice particularly in relation to Chinese art and culture. The successful applicant will be expected to become a full and active member of the Center for Chinese Visual Arts (CCVA) and research community within the School.The Fellowship will normally conclude with an exhibition of work produced during the Fellowship as a CAC Fellowship section within the BIAD MA Fine Art show.

After the first round selection, 4 candidates have been recommended to be offered an interview, which will to be held at 2 pm 21st January 2015 at Chronus Art Center, Shanghai. The CAC Fellowship Interview Panel will includes: Professor Jiang Jiehong from the School of Art, Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD), Birmingham City University, who is also the Director of its Center for Chinese Visual Arts (CCVA); Hu Jieming, artist, Co-founder of Chronus Art Center and Professor of Shanghai Institute of Visual Art; Zhang Peili, artist, Director of OCAT Shanghai, Professor of China Academy of Art; Zhang Ga, media art curator, Professor from the Fine Art Department, Qinghua University, Director of Qinghua Art and Science Media Laboratory(TASML); Gu Ling, Director of Digital Arts of the British Council in Shanghai.
